This is my first blog which I intend to keep on top of, as I feel the Lord wants me to explore ways of witnessing my faith on the Web as well as in reality.
During the second part of 2016 life threw a serious curve ball at me and my family, which really tested my faith and had me calling out to God asking him why were we suffering in this and to take the pain, emotions away from us.
My mentor at Church encouraged me to delve deeper into scripture, through which God answered one of my cries if he knew this was going to happen why did he let the events leading up to it take place? These verses came up:
1 Peter C1 v20 He was chosen before creation of the world but was revealed in the last times for your sake.
Revelation Ch13 v8 And all the inhabitants of the earth will fall down in adoration and pay him homage, everyone whose name has not been recorded in the Book of Life of the Lamb that was slain [in sacrifice]from the foundation of the world.
God showed me that he knew before he created the world that he would have to sacrifice his only Son, and it was out of love that he created us with free will to live our lives.
Through all this I have been able to share my faith more easily as when I’ve been asked how are you able to cope my response is by “God’s grace and mercy”.
Our families, friends and most importantly our Church family have helped my family through this curve ball in our lives by being supportive in prayer and practicalities, and for all those reading this blog if your not a member of a Church and / or don’t study the scriptures regularly I would highly recommend setting yourself a realistic goal for 2017 by regularly fellowshipping with local Christians and trying to complete 6no. daily devotionals.
Thanks for sharing. You write articulately and calmly. It seems to be the case for many that our faith deepens and matures through adversity. Ultimately only Jesus is fully faithful, reliable and able to restore us. I hope this blog will bless others.
